SPEAKING

First-hand stories about building companies before the outcome is obvious

I speak about entrepreneurship, products, financing and failure without turning the story into a success formula. I want to do more talks for companies, founder communities and professional events.

THE VALLEY OF DEATH

The gap between initial funding and sustainable revenue

The valley of death is the period after a startup has received its first funding but before it has stable revenue or profitability. Cash flow is negative, the commercial model is still being proven, and more capital is needed at the same time as the risk makes new financing difficult.

For founders, the practical questions are runway, which assumptions must be tested first, and which costs or priorities must change before room to manoeuvre disappears.
